【Abstract】

Advanced digital manufacturing technologies in industrial applications are transforming how products are made. The true power of these digitally based technologies lies in their seamless integrations across platforms. At the same time, the landscape for these technologies is dynamic and ever-changing.

From a US based perspective, we will discuss how the broad base of dynamic digital manufacturing technologies is expanding and how this expansion makes possible full blown industrial production. In the end, the success of industrial production is measured in absolute terms, and additive manufacturing is beginning to perform acceptably in those key metrics.
